Curriculum - Special Education
Special Education - Inclusion Model
The Cranston Public School System has a complete continuum of special education services across the three high school locations. At the NEL/CPS Career Academy we offer in-class resource and full inclusion services. This means that at the NEL/CPS Career Academy all of our students with special needs are integrated in regular education classes all day, every period. A special educator may co-teach in some of the classes, but not in all of the classes.
Student success is directly related to student motivation. If a student is self-motivated and responsible for themselves, they will be successful at the Academy regardless of their ability levels. This success will foster self-confidence and result in the student we are looking to graduate.
