Resources - Guidance

The school counselor collaborates with the school staff to address the academic, career and social development of all students. The learning process takes place in individual sessions, small focus groups and classroom lessons.

Academic counseling includes specific plans for improving grades, development of study groups, lessons in self-advocacy, study skills, time management etc. A "Map to Graduation" visually presents graduation requirements and is used to explain credits, transcripts and post secondary school requirements.

Career counseling is carefully coordinated with our World of Work and Construction staff.

Personal and Social Development skills focus on respect for self and others, decision making survival and safety skills.
